Fostering Social Worker

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an additional Professionally Qualified Social Worker to our Fostering Team. 

Like many organisations we have adapted to home working. While working remotely is a necessity in today’s Covid-19 conditions we are open to considering future working arrangements that deliver shared benefits.

Foster Care Ireland is committed to securing the best outcomes for the children placed with us and we invest in and support our foster carers accordingly.  This is a full-time position for a committed team player with the flexibility to constructively engage with the challenges and work towards sustainable outcomes for children. 

The salary and benefit package will be attractive and commensurate with experience.

Applicants should have qualifications in social work, three years experience in delivering services in the areas of fostering, child protection and/or children in care.  You will need to show evidence of a clean driving record and have the use of private transport to service your caseload.

Our attitude of acceptance, curiosity and empathy helps us to understand how trauma and attachment difficulties are communicated in the daily lives of our foster families. We encourage regulation and reflection to discover the meaning behind presenting behaviour.

The payment will be based upon each completed or part completed Form F Assessment.

Fostering Social Worker

Job Location – Santry -Dublin Office (with the option for blended office/home working)
Salary – 31,200 – 55,360 + bonus
Hours – 40 hours a week – Daytime / evenings / weekends to meet the needs of the prospective foster carers – flexibility with working hours will be required.

Flexibility:
Due to the nature of this role, the hours of work will differ from the standard Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You will be expected to work in a flexible way to cover core aspects of the job as they arise. You may be asked to provide additional working time where necessary when tasks not specifically covered in the job description, have to be undertaken and this will include working in the evenings and at weekends.

Additional Duties:
1. Respond sensitively and professionally to the children, young people and families who work with FCI.
2. Undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
3. Reach a minimum basic standard of I.T. competence to be able to use company electronic systems effectively.
4. Ensure that Health and Safety is observed in the course of employment.
5. Uphold and promote the professional image of FCI at all times.
6. Adhere to the principals of the Data Protection Legislation.
7. Promote and maintain positive anti-racist, anti-sexist and multicultural practices.
8. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the Director informed of work in progress and informs the Director immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint. Ensuring compliance with Child Protection Procedures with special reference to Children First Guidelines, Children First Act 2015 and reporting procedures.
