Foster Care Ireland (FCI) is an Irish owned non-statutory fostering agency in north Dublin. We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Fostering Social Worker to our team. FCI is committed to securing the best outcomes for the children placed with us and we invest in and support our foster carers accordingly. This is a position for a team player who will constructively engage with the challenges and work towards sustainable outcomes.
We recognise the value of informed therapeutic practices such as DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) which we are actively adopting in support to our foster carers. Our attitude of acceptance, curiosity and empathy helps us to understand how trauma and attachment difficulties are communicated in the daily lives of our foster families. We encourage regulation and reflection to discover the meaning behind presenting behaviour.
A part-time appointment will be considered where the applicant has a proven track record and clearly fits with our cultural ethos.
The salary and benefit package will be commensurate with experience.
Applicants should have qualifications in social work, experience in delivering services in the areas of fostering, child protection and/or children in care.

Principal Social Worker
Following its move to new premises in Santry, Foster Care Ireland is seeking to appoint a Principal Social Worker to lead its next stage of growth to become the model non-statutory fostering service provider of Dublin North.
This is an opportunity for a committed professional to draw on their experience and lead by example in the development of an organisation that is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children. The position will appeal to applicants who wish to shape and grow an effective therapeutic fostering service that places the interest of children first and always.
The Principal Social Worker is an ex officio member of the Board of Management and is responsible to the CEO for the implementation of the policies of Foster Care Ireland.
The salary and benefit package will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Applicants should have qualifications in social work, be CORU registered and at least 5 years experience in leading services in the areas of children and families, and fostering in particular. Flexibility to home working with internet access will be a feature for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic. Submissions to be received by 9th September.
